Like a vitamin A but gentler: Not only is Bakuchi Oil (Bakuchiol) antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, it also regulates the behaviour of skin cells in a similar way to retinol, without being a vitamin A. While both stimulate collagen production and reduce MMP, an enzyme that attacks collagen, Bakuchiol is more tolerable than retinol.
